Good for a first game...

But this was extremely gimmicky, not well designed as far as visual aesthetic goes, and just overall... seems a little unprofessional. Maybe a greater level/planet ratio and a level select screen. Try to be consistent with the room views - I understand how you're trying to make the game challenging, but there are other, less frustrating challenges to use.

Okay, people said this was a useless review. Screw them, thanks for the input! as far as the graphix are conserned, I am going to do a collab with an artist! (WOOT)

5201lbs!

maybe have the corpses fade out or something? The screen got very cluttered very fast.

I like seeing all the gibs on the ground. It's fun.

MochiCoins=Not Cool.

This game was really cool, but overall I had the feeling that you were trying to sell me mochi-coins, especially with the ads for them after I failed every level. Please, just make your game free, and have the mochi-ad at the beginning or something. Nobody wants to pay for features.

Quite frankly, this killed much of the game experience for me.

Great idea, but...

The controls killed it. I'm sorry, but that's almost unplayable. The music was a little out of my style, but I guess the demographic you're appealing to would like it. I don't know, I'm not a skater. The graphics were good, although pixel, they worked very well for this.

Just please change the controls.

Lame.

Movement is extremely slow and cumbersome. Sprites are ripped from Game Maker (version 4.2ish?). Not fun.

Yeah. I'd say my last comment is the most important one to fix. It can be done by making the controls better, mostly, and adding some thought to the level design. A confused foresty platform with cowboys is just plain odd.

Great Game

But the controls are so clunky! Walljumping is near impossible to pull off, and never practical. The climbing thing is useful, though.

Yeah. I see potential. But that's about it.

This is the worst Tetris clone I've seen yet.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but the focus is obviously on the music and not the game. I'm happy for you, to see that you can make a tetris clone that works. However, try making it more visually appealing next time. The random colors were an eyesore, and the solidity of the pieces was far from original. The pieces rotated the wrong direction when you press "up" which was very annoying.

So yeah. Either fix all those things, or just send it to the Audio portal. Good song, bad game.

Good, but

Missing a lot of words, and a little buggy. It said I succeeded right after the game over screen. I like it, can' wait for the full vers.

Oh, and nobody wants to spend Mochi Points or whatever it is on letters. Just make all the types available in-game.

Ugh.

As great as the art and everything else is, the game is near unplayable. The baby didn't respond to the "w" button half the time, and the rats are more annoying than anything else. I think if you'd've made it one continuous scene instead of changing scenes every time you left the screen, some foresight would be available.

I like it, but I hate it at the same time.

I thought it was a Phoenix clone

And then I realized it was a lame one. Graphics need a TON of work, as does the level design as a whole. Everything feels very unprofessional, and its really not pulled off very well. You've got good gameplay and music going for you, but I think the former is inherent in all games of the genre.

It's got loads of potential. Just try a little harder.

hypnoticgames responds:

thank you for this comment and thanks to everyone else who played yes it is unprofessional as are most first games. shooter style games are easy to do when you know nothing so this was a learning experiment our next game i hope will be alot better so keep an eye out for it
